Gov’t express service opens September 7-11
Iloilo City (8 September) — The Civil Service Commission (CSC) opened today, September 8, the “Government Express Goes to the Mall” at SM City here as part of the 109th anniversary celebration of Philippine Civil Service in Western Visayas.
The activity also served as the culminating highlight of the recognition program held to recognize outstanding government offices and employees in the region.
CSC Regional Director lawyer Rodolfo Encajonado said Government Express Goes to the Mall aims at showcasing the frontline programs, projects and services of various government agencies to bring the government closer to the people.
Held since 1999, the express service project was conceived to let people know that the government cares for them, Encajonado said.
The CSC regional chief opened the express service together with NAPOLCOM Regional Director and Regional Association of National Government Executives president Honey Paredes, CSC Assistant Regional Director Raymund Gonzales.DTI Regional Director Dominic Abad, and Western Visayas College of Science and Technology president Luis Sorolla and his vice president Edwin Foz.
A total of 43 agencies are participating in the express service that will render services until Sept. 11. Designation staff personnel from the agencies man their respective service desks.
Two PAG-ASA and one Dangal ng Bayan awardees from the region, who have already national qualifiers for the prestigious awards for exemplary civil servants, led this year’s awardees given recognition by the CSC during the program.
They are Eduardo Guevarra of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region VI Field Office and Ms. Rosarion Silla, also of the DSWD6 Field Office for the PAG-ASA award and PS/Insp Lourdes Banzuelo for the Dangal ng Bayan award. (PIA6)
