Maasin police station named “most citizen friendly”

Iloilo City (8 September) — The police station of the municipality of Maasin, Iloilo was adjudged as the “Most Citizen Friendly” police station in Region VI for the year 2009.

The announcement of winners and awarding highlighted the closing program of the observance of the 15th National Crime Prevention Week in the region held at SM City Iloilo Activity Center on September 7, 2009.

Second to the Maasin Police Station in the municipal category was the Tobias Fornier Municipal Police Station of the province of Antique and third was Buenavista Municipal Police Station of the province of Guimaras.

Named as most citizen friendly police stations in the city category are: San Carlos City Police Station, first; Talisay City Police Station, second; Iloilo City Police Station 6, third; and Bacolod City Police Station 3, fourth.

Warlito Pagran of Brgy. Antipolo, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental was awarded P10,000 cash plus gift certificates and trophy as the Most Outstanding Barangay Tanod in the individual category.

For the group category, the team from Brgy. Polo, New Washington, Aklan got the first place bringing home P20,000 cash, trophy and certificates.

Movie personality Bryan Revilla led the members of the Regional Management Coordinating Committee (RMCC) VI in handing the certificates, trophies and checks to the winners.

The RMCC VI is composed of the directors of the Department of the Interior and Local Government and its attached agencies such as the National Police Commission, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology and Philippine Public Safety College.
